‘Leaving Home’ is an exhibition by Mary Duker, structured as a series of visual chapters and developed through an extended period of practice-based research. The work explores abandoned homes across two sites in the Eastern Cape, one rural and one urban.

Images, video works, and installations composed of spectral fragments and found objects left behind by former inhabitants are presented in a shifting, fluid assemblage that responds directly to the spatial architecture of Nelson Mandela University Bird Street Gallery.
