Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) is the only higher education institution in the world to carry the name of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela and is the most diverse university in South Africa.

Ampersand was tasked with augmenting a keepsake publication “Our Beating Heart” designed by Boomtown celebrating contributions by NMMU Staff and Nelson Mandela’s legacy. Ampersand applied augmented reality (AR) features which included static images, video, animation and audio overlays.
